New Year, New You

We are just days away from the end of 2012, and I am thrilled to ring in the New Year! I typically take this time to reflect on the previous year, and prepare a better way of life. Here are a few of my resolutions for 2013 to help you brainstorm:

Indulge & Treat Yourself – Keeping up a busy  schedule makes finding time for ourselves challenging. This year, I plan to devote more time to the things I love; slow down and enjoy! My indulgences certainly run the gamut, such as spa days, luncheons, getaways, education courses, cultural travel, shopping trips, museum tours, and most importantly, quality family time!

Be A More Conscientious Consumer – There are numerous ways to recycle! Many think recycling only applies to glass, plastics and paper, but consider your old or no longer used belongings. Recycling them can make a difference. If you don't use it, why keep it? This year, I am committing to a more sustainable way of living, buying Eco-friendly household items, making sure to recycle, but also cleaning out my closet and jewelry box!  CIRCA is committed to raising awareness about the value of selling no longer worn jewelry and the positive environmental impact that results. Each piece of unworn jewelry sold to CIRCA is returned to the marketplace for another to wear and enjoy, lessening the industry’s need to pull new stones from the earth.

Be Kind To Others - The holiday season is my favorite time of year, not for the decorations or gifts (although, I do love jewelry...), but the universal holiday spirit truly brings out the best in people. I've been so inspired by Ann Curry's 26 Acts of Kindness. Small acts of kindness and selflessness can go a long way.

This year, I plan to dedicate more time to philanthropy, whether it be volunteering, fundraising, or building awareness for a cause - all are to help those in need. Philanthropy is an integral part of CIRCA's culture, and there is nothing more gratifying than helping others! Stay tuned to the blog for more on CIRCA's community involvement.
