CIRCA was proud to sponsor the opening gala celebrating the Chicago History Museum’s newest exhibition Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair. The exhibition pays tribute to long-time leadership, producer and director Eunice Walker Johnson of Chicago’s Johnson Publishing Company and Co-founder of Ebony Magazine, who brought European fashion to the African American community. The impressive 7,000-square-foot exhibition, curated by Joy Bivins, features looks by iconic fashion designers like Yves Saint-Laurent, Christian Dior, Oscar de la Renta, Pierre Cardin, Emanuel Ungaro, and Patrick Kelly among others.

Guests got a sneak peek of this fabulous exhibition followed by dinner, dancing and a live auction! CIRCA donated this fabulous Cartier “Diadea” 18k white gold ring, with a total carat weight of 1.65 diamonds set en tremblant as well as a Buccellati “Classica” 18k yellow gold 10 diamond hinged bangle raising over $19,000!

Congratulations to the Costume Council and Honorary Chair of the Costume Ball, Linda Johnson Rice for this landmark exhibition!
